PENNDOT, Maryland State Highway Administration (MDSHA) and the
Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) held a Public Meeting Open
House on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the Salisbury Borough Building
in Salisbury, PA. The purpose of this meeting was to present updated
project information, view proposed alternatives and potential local
access interchange locations, answer questions and collect public
input.
At the meeting, six alternatives were presented (Alternatives A-E).
Through studies and analysis it was determined Alternatives A, D
and E best balance impacts; therefore, they will be carried forward
for Detailed Analysis. Potential interchange locations were also
presented for each alternative. Two possible locations where shown
for Alternative A and D, one north of Salisbury and one south of
Salisbury. The interchange with location with Alternative E would
be located around the Pennsylvania/Maryland state line. An access
road would then be constructed from the interchange back to existing
US 219.
