"PENNDOT, in partnership with the Maryland State Highway Administration
(MDSHA) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) conducted
an Introductory Open House meeting for the proposed US 219, Meyersdale
to I-68 project in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Nearly 300 people
attended the meeting on Monday, June 17, 2002 at the Salisbury Municipal
Building in Salisbury, PA.
The purpose of the meeting was to: introduce the project to the
community; introduce the study team to the community; reintroduce
project needs and purpose; explain the project location and limits;
educate and gain input from the public; and to work with the public
to identify areas of interest and public concern. In addition, the
public had an opportunity to speak one-on-one with study team members
about specific concerns. A questionnaire was distributed at the
registration desk."
