Project Information

U.S. 219 is a major north-south route through western Pennsylvania. It links I-68 in Maryland to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and I-80 providing important access to small cities, towns and rural communities. Recognizing its importance to southwestern Pennsylvania, sections of US 219 have been upgraded to a four-lane, limited access facility. When this section is completed, the improved corridor will run continuously between I-68 and US 22 providing a much needed transportation improvement for southwestern-southcentral Pennsylvania.

The project team will study the area and develop several preliminary corridor alternatives. Through engineering and environmental studies and public involvement activities, the team will prepare a transportation improvement study.
